Mansion Casino

What does it take to put together and offer a genuinely outstanding online casino? It’s actually a pretty simple recipe – plenty of games, solid customer service, a website that performs and at least a couple of decent promotions.  Which is why it’s always surprising to see just how many get it entirely wrong.  In the case of Mansion Casino, these guys have been in business in one form or another for over a decade now. So you’d expect them to know exactly what they’re doing, but how does Mansion Casino stack up against the competition these days? Read on and Casino Papa will reveal all!

Overview

As already mentioned, Mansion Casino has been around since 2004 and has established a pretty sizable following on a global basis. The package they put together is available in a variety of languages and accepts plenty of currencies, with the reviewers on the whole having given the company in general a pretty solid score. Indeed, the Mansion Casino Group is one of the most established and reputable on the market, making them an extremely safe bet for a spot of online gaming.

Site Summary

Taking a closer look at the specifics, the Mansion Casino website is one that divides critics firmly down the middle, and we can see why, as to be perfectly honest we weren’t particularly won over by the way it all looks. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but it all nonetheless looks a little on the basic side. It all runs well enough and the navigation system does its job, but the way the various games can be accessed using the toolbar to the left comes across as a little amateurish. But then again, it’s all a matter of personal opinion.

To be fair though, we also have to point out that there is the option of a software download, which we found to make the experience in terms of presentation much more pleasant.

At the time of our review, Mansion Casino was promoting an extremely generous welcome bonus worth up to £5,000. As usual, the welcome bonus takes the form of an initial deposit match bonus, which is subject to rather heavy wagering requirements of 20X the combined bonus and initial deposit. Which in turn means that if you were to deposit £500 and receive a £500 bonus in return, you would then need to wager £20,000 in order to access the bonus funds.  Which of course you aren’t going to do – especially given the fact that you have a limited time to do it. In addition, only slots and scratch cards count 100% toward these wagering requirements – all other games contribute 25% or less.

As for the selection of games available at Mansion Casino, all essential boxes are ticked but they don’t necessarily go to extremes. The collection of slots is certainly large enough and there are plenty of table games available, but it’s definitely not the biggest collection you’re likely to come across. Which is something that counts double in terms of the mobile experience for Mansion Casino customers.

At the time of our review, there were somewhere in the region of 100 games available via mobile. Again, this is probably enough to keep most people satisfied, but is nonetheless massively more restrictive than the standard desktop casino and also falls behind the mobile casinos of many rivals. On the plus side, the mobile app does work extremely well across most devices.

Moving on, the range of on-going promotions and specials at Mansion Casino is extremely impressive. While we were browsing what was on offer, there were around 10 on-going and seasonal promotions to check out, which included the 12 Days of Christmas prize giveaway, Christmas Countdown and plenty of others designed to get everyone in the festive spirit. Across the board, terms, conditions and wagering requirements apply to every promotion, which are similar to those of the welcome bonus.

Other than this, it can only be said that the customer service team at Mansion Casino is excellent, providing outstanding support on a 24/7 basis by way of live chat and telephone. We found the e-mail response times to be a little on the slow side, but certainly weren’t the worst we’ve come across.

Best Features

It’s always satisfying and reassuring to work with a brand as established and reputable as Mansion Casino. In terms of the best features, the overall customer service package offered is outstanding, there is a decent loyalty system for VIP customers and there are always plenty of seasonal special offers to keep the action enjoyable and entertaining.

Conclusion

Despite the fact that Mansion Casino ticks most of the right boxes, the overall experience we found to be a little disappointing. Given what you’d expect from a brand with such pedigree, it just doesn’t seem to have the same kind of sparkle and lustre as many other leading online casino brands. It’s not that there’s anything specifically wrong with it, but rather a case of everything feeling a little on the modest, less-than-spectacular side of things.

Cons

  • The browser-based casino doesn’t look particularly impressive
  • Definitely not the biggest selection of games
  • Welcome bonus wagering requirements too steep
  • Not enough games available via mobile

Pros

  • A decent selection of slots and table games
  • Generally excellent website performance
  • Solid mobile experience across multiple platforms
  • Excellent customer service
  • A great live dealer casino
  • Plenty of on-going promotions
