Butlers Bingo Review

If the thought of hundreds of different bingo rooms all telling you they’re the best had made you a little sceptical, you’re far from in the minority. Each time a newcomer opens its doors, we’re forced to ask why – as in why should the punters pick you, over and above current table-toppers? And it’s the same in the case of Butlers Bingo – a worthy addition to the industry, or just another half-baked attempt to snare a few customers? Read on for Casino Papa’s honest overview of what’s on offer.

Overview
We’d be lying if we didn’t find the overall concept of Butlers Bingo a little corny. But then again, we could (and indeed do) say the same about plenty of others. Aside from the connotations of luxury, the butler theme is a bit random and not one we’re massively fond of. However, we happily admit that themes are inconsequential if the quality of the bingo itself is up to par. And in the case of Butlers Bingo, we’re happy to say that it’s…well, not as bad as it could be!

Site Summary
Let’s just get one thing out of the way first – you’ll probably need to turn the sound effects off right away, if you don’t want Butlers Bingo to drive you mad. Which in its own right is a bit of a fiddly job and one we can’t see non-tech-types hacking, so best just to turn down the volume on whatever you’re using. Long story short – far too many clicks, dings, pings and beeps for a relaxing bingo affair!

Now we’ve got that off chests, setting up an account with Butlers Bingo is as easy as it gets, while the overall site itself couldn’t be simpler in its design. Too simple? Some certainly say so, but it’s definitely not what you’d call an amateur effort. It’s one of the few bingo sites that make use of software from Microgaming, which is just the kind of thing to split punters right down the middle. Some love it, some hate it – over to you on that one!

Giving those promotions and bonuses a once-over now, new players are given the opportunity to take home a 250% welcome bonus up to a maximum value of £100. Generous indeed, but with wagering requirements right up there at 5X, Butlers Bingo lets itself down pretty badly. 3X we can deal with – 5X is just too high. Still, they make up for things a little with the arsenal of regular promos and deals on offer, which at the time of writing included:

Jackpot Got2Go – Take part for the chance to win a jackpot of £1,000 from 9pm each Thursday and Friday. On the Wednesday evening before, there’s a warm-up jackpot on offer of £500.

Spinner Room – Take part in special games between 5pm and 8pm every evening to win free spins on top video slots.

Friday – £1,000 MegaPot – You’ll be given one free ticket to this weekly jackpot game for every £20 you spend on bingo tickets, along with each deposit of £20 you make into your account.

Saturday – The Butler’s BIG £10,000 – Tickets for this huge jackpot cost £1, but you’ll be given six for free upon buying a set of six.

Sunday – Grab a Grand – A guaranteed £1,000 jackpot to play for every Sunday evening, with the action kicking off at 8pm and the price being awarded at 10pm.

And if all that wasn’t enough, they occasionally put on even bigger competitions with top prizes of up to £25,000.

In terms of normal gameplay, the bingo at Butlers is limited to just 90-ball and 70-ball types, which isn’t particularly impressive. That being said, these are the most popular types by leaps and bounds, so it’s not all bad. In addition, there’s a decent enough selection of casino games and slots to add a bit of variety to things. Not enough to qualify Butlers Bingo as anything close to a competitive casino, but better than the feeble efforts of some other bingo rooms.

As for the final bits and pieces, these guys only permit one withdrawal per week, which could stand to be improved. In addition, there is no customer service telephone number and various forms of ID are required before most transactions can be made. All in the name of fraud prevention of course, but less than convenient. Oh, and there’s a decent enough mobile version of the website too, if you’d prefer to take your Butlers Bingo bonanza with you on the go.

Best Features
As you probably figured out a while back, it’s the weekly competitions and specials that really make Butlers Bingo one to watch. With prizes from £500 to £25,000 to play for on a regular basis, even those who only play periodically could find themselves taking home a huge prize. We also found the customer care team to be extremely helpful too…albeit in the absence of a telephone number!

Conclusion
On the whole therefore, Butlers Bingo finds itself positioned somewhere slightly above the middle of the pack, though not quite at the top. On the plus side, loads of promos, competitions and specials keep the action fresh long-term. On the downside, more bingo types are needed, as is a customer service telephone number and perhaps a slight update to the site’s design.
