Take a trip in the wild Amazon with a little help from the folks at Playtech, enjoying a pleasant sensory experience along the way. That’s the word that immediately comes to mind with this one – pleasant. It’s just a nice slot to spend time with! Flowers, birds, animals, colourful visuals, enchanting sound effects – the perfect recipe for a sweet escape! And of course, the fact that there’s also treasure hiding in there serves as quite the bonus, too!

Along with serving up a very generous 100 paylines, Amazon Wild also ups the ante from the usual three symbol rows with four of them. It’s your classic five-reel slot, but offers genuinely impressive odds of taking home a prize.

As already mentioned, there’s a plethora of friendly flora and fauna waiting to make your acquaintance, with the symbols being separated into three areas – plants, birds and animals. The Amazon God symbol (who looks a bit like he’s in need of medical attention) is the wild symbol, while the map symbol is the bonus scatter. All 100 paylines are in play at all times, meaning that the coin size you choose (from 0.01 to 1.00) is multiplied by 100 for each spin. So it’s not the cheapest of slots, but the prizes paid out have the potential to be huge.

    Payout & bonus rounds

At the bottom end of the table, hitting a line of three green plants in a row will land you the lowest prize possible of 20X your wager. Right at the other end of the spectrum, the black panther is the kind of jungle cat you’ll be wanting to see a lot of – five in a row mean a full 1,000X your stake.

The bonus game is accessed by way of the map scatter symbol, of which you’ll need to land three at the same time anywhere on the game board. Make it happen and you’ll be presented with a map showing the locations of some ancient Amazon ruins, of which you can select the same number as how many scatters you hit to enter the bonus round – so a minimum of three. Each of the ruins hides a cash payout, ranging from the modest to the mind-blowing.

There’s a lot to like about Amazon Wild in terms of gameplay, special features and the way it’s all put together. But at the same time, the fact that the minimum possible bet is 1.00 per spin makes it a bit on the expensive side. The possibility of hitting huge jackpots certainly helps, but at the same time it would be nice to at least have the option of wagering a little less with each spin.
